If you’ve ever found yourself at a party surrounded by people wearing ironic T-shirts and blabbing smugly about some impossibly obscure indie group while sipping a craft beer, you have stumbled across the Pitchfork nation, devotees of the music blog that serves as self-appointed mouthpiece for what’s cool.
Pitchfork’s relentlessly “new” edge is tiring for the average music fan trying to keep up, and it’s positively infuriating for Smashing Pumpkins honcho Billy Corgan, who has said stars like Kurt Cobain, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Hole's Courtney Love wouldn’t happen today because of Pitchfork’s ironically homogenizing effect on the alternative music scene.

Being a rock star isn’t all limo rides, free beer and amps that turn up to 11. Sometimes, it means being the convenient target of aggression. Just ask Megadeth screamer/guitar-slinger Dave Mustaine, often a lightning rod for controversy and also, it seems, a handy magnet for rocks and other debris.
One day, there will be a shiny, happy good news story about Courtney Love… but today is not that day. Lawyers at the firm Pryor Cashman, who currently represent the notorious Hole singer, are hoping to withdraw their counsel following what they call a "complete breakdown" in communication with their client.
He’s been dead almost two decades (and isn’t that staggering to consider), yet Kurt Cobain is back in the news lately. Footage of late Nirvana singer/songwriter chiming in with wife Courtney Love of Hole as she meanders through the unreleased track “Stinking Of You” has surfaced online – check it out below.
