The upside of being a world-famous rock star: Adoration, exotic travel, free designer clothes, the best tables at the hippest restaurants and more money than you can count. The downside of being a world-famous rock star: Paparazzi stalkers and batpoo-crazy fans. Just ask Sheryl Crow.

The way-hot singer/songwriter – who is 50… can you flipping believe that? What moisturizer is she using? - has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man she says recently claimed that he was going to shoot her. And not just with fetching looks of adoration, evidently.

According to court documents filed recently in L.A. Superior Court and quoted at E! Online, Crow says that Phillip Gordon Sparks, 45, posted alarming messages about her on his Facebook page, which her manager discovered in April.

"It was clear to me that he was deeply disturbed because his posts were delusional, rambling, filled with profanity and laced with angry rants," Crow writes, adding that one post claimed she had broken into his house looking for a gun, while another accused her of filming him without his knowledge.

She writes: "All of these allegations are, of course, totally false." Yup, sometimes the nutters do the work for you… Sparks also claimed that Crow and movie producer Harvey Weinstein were harassing him to keep quiet about a failed reality show, according to E!.

As the Hollywood Reporter notes, Crow claims that a week ago, Sparks told an employee at the SAG-AFTRA offices in Los Angeles that he was going to "just shoot" her. "I am greatly concerned that Mr. Sparks may physically harm me, my family members, close friends, agents and representatives who are identified in the accompanying request," writes the rocking mother of two.

A hearing is scheduled for August 14 to determine whether to make the temporary order permanent, according to E!. This, as THR notes, comes on the heels of new that the Grammy winner has a benign brain tumor. Time to don those fancy designer threads and head to a hip restaurant for a few relaxing martinis.
