Call it “cart before the horse” syndrome. Rockers Aerosmith are already on the road this summer, tearing up the floorboards of arenas alongside Cheap Trick even though the release date of their much-hyped new album is but a pinprick on the horizon. But the group has released a way-cool video for the song "Legendary Child." Check it out below.
Music From Another Dimension - the band’s 15th studio album overall and first album in eight years – is now expected November 6, a time-frame when singer and American Idol judge Steven Tyler, with characteristic savvy, reckons the album will face less marketplace competition. Naturally.
The disc was originally scheduled to drop August 28, the same day Alanis Morissette will release her highly anticipated Havoc and Bright Lights and Wiz Khalifa will debut his sophomore studio effort, O.N.I.F.C., as the Hollywood Reporter notes. (And those discs present competition to Aerosmith??)
Oh well. Better late than never… let’s hope it’s worth waiting for. The video for “Legendary Child” augurs well… it’s pretty amusing and begins as a kind of spoof on those cornball Behind the Music docs before launching into a straight performance piece. And the song certainly recalls hits of old, as promised. Cool.
Where's the Jack Douglas bluesy 70's grit that was promised?...cuz it sure ain't present here..other than the basic riff, this is too polished...sorry guys, I was expecting better
Not too sure about the song itself (seems a bit weak, with too-much ripped-off from previous hits); but the video was great! Loved the main-Hottie featured in it! The video took me back to the '80's; when I used to rush-home from high-school on Thursdays, just so I could watch the MuchMusic Power-Hour. I loved watching all the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock videos of the time, and the babes that were in them. This new Aerosmith video would have fit right-in with those from other bands (like Scorpians, Whitesnake, Kiss, Mountain, and Helix; just to name a few) at the time. Thanks for takin' me back to those great days, Steven Tyler & the-gang. I hope to see more like this one, when you release other songs off your new album. Keep rockin', man!
