The Michelin Man has met his match! Oddball Icelandic art-rocker Björk wowed
(stupefied? deeply disturbed?) the crowd gathered at Denmark's annual Roskilde Festival this past weekend and not just with her vocal gymnastics. The singer, 46, performed wearing something that looks like a plumber’s nightmare of puffy black tangled tubes.

And people credit Madonna with inspiring Lady Gaga. Ha… Gaga’s evidently been slyly looking across the Atlantic all this time. Of course Björk has been a perennial fashion risk for ages – witness that odd swan dress she sported at the 2001 Academy Awards. But this outfit sets a whole new bar for musical kookiness with nary a member of Gwar in sight.

Anyhoo, as the Hollywood Reporter notes, Björk’s musical set was every bit as stunning as the get-up. It’s described as “a multimedia visual feast, consisted of 15 songs, oscillating between familiar hits like ‘Hunter’ and ‘Isobel’ and newer songs from her 2011 release Biophilia, like ‘Virus,’ ‘Mutual Core,’ and show opener ‘Cosmogony.’

Cool. There was a moment there in the late 1990s when it seemed Björk was everywhere, and rightly so; her post-Sugarcubes solo stuff was awesome. (And those videos were pretty nutty, too). Not so much spotlight of late, but it’s nice to have her back.

what a load of crap - no class

When is this sick animal going to be euthanised?

Roskilde? Is that Dutch for Roadkill?

Avante-garde, it's fashionistas like Bjork who push the boundaries of what's acceptable - so that fashion around the world changes. Otherwise the world's fashions would get boring pretty quickly.
