This is a great time to be a Trubie (better known as a die-hard fan of True Blood). Sinewy Stooges screamer Iggy Pop and Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino are set to debut a collaborative track on the HBO vampire series. "Let's Boot and Rally," a duet between the pair, will play July 8 during the end credits of the fifth episode of the show's current and fifth season.

This new track will bookend an awesome song from last year also recorded for True Blood and featuring Nick Cave and Neko Case covering the Zombies' classic “She's Not There.” Check it out below.

(And did we mention that HBO has just released the entire fourth season of True Blood on Blu-ray and DVD, filled with audio commentaries, interviews and other exclusive goodies?)

Of the collaboration, a pithy Pop is quoted by the NME as saying: "I've always liked to bite. I guess this makes me a singing vampire, does this mean I have a licence to suck? Hi Bethany..."

Right on.

Sometimes rock music is like a breeze of the spring which will clean people's hearts. But sometimes, rock music is like a encouraging fire which will excite people’s soul.
