Here's a new song from brainiac Cali punks the Offspring and if you're a fan, you'll likely be pleased as punch, since "Days Go By," recalls the quartet's spiky, pop-friendly mid-90s sonic heyday.
"Days Go By," which premiered on L.A. radio station KROQ, is the title track from the group's forthcoming album which was produced by heavyweight Bob Rock (see Aerosmith, The Cult, Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Bush) and arrives June 25.
Interestingly, the Offspring are releasing different singles in different pasts of the world, with "Days Go By" leading off in the United States, Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland while the song "Cruising California (Bumpin' In My Trunk) represents the new album in the rest of the world. Wonder how they came up with that plan?Singer/guitarist Dexter Holland, 46, is quoted as saying, "I don't know why but I felt sort of serious writing this record and when I finished I felt I needed to have a few playful songs too. Kind of both sides of the Offspring. Either way I think these songs are all going to be a lot of fun to play live."Cool. Look for Holland and fabulously monikered band mates Noodles, 49 (guitar), Greg K, 47 (bass) and Pete Parada, 37 (drums) to be touring near you this summer.Stop right there… now read this: Ted Nugent goes ballistic on reporter (watch!)Watch: Chili Peppers, Coldplay salute Beastie Boys Famous rock photographer diesMarilyn Manson disc is...gasp... ho-hum?!
