Aerosmith screamer Steven Tyler really likes Burger King’s new crispy Chicken Strips. In fact, he likes them so much that he’s promoting them in a TV ad… and not some obscure TV ad seen only in Japan à la Lost in Translation, thus saving face with fans who might think it unseemly for a beloved rock star to be shilling fast food. Nope. Our man is pushing cheap and greasy chicken en Anglais.

Click below to see the American Idol judge cheerily flogging dead bird.

As ads go, it’s OK. Better than most, actually: Tyler flirts with customers at the drive-through while sassing his boss and comically sending up his rocker image. But you have to wonder: just how much dough does this guy need?  And wouldn’t his spare time be better spent finishing up that long-promised new Aerosmith studio album?

So see, Tyler must really, really like Burger King’s new crispy Chicken Strips because no sane person would ever do this. ‘Nuff said. By the way, the YouTube ad with the Spanish-language intro is included because the English version was disabled. Have fun!

One of my favourite shows, Inside the Actor's Studio, (darn, I can't find it any more on Bravo) had George Clooney on a few weeks ago. Whether you're a fan or not (I AM) I have never seen anyone so comfortable and funny in front of a camera. He makes a lot of independent films and as you know is a huge philanthropist and works in the Sudan a lot. It surprised me when he admitted freely that he does, I think it was a coffee commercial in China - but the money goes towards his independent, artsy films and proceeds also go to Sudan. I wonder where Tyler's money goes - probably more hair extensions!

I would not have expected Tyler to be a shill for Burger King - how base can one become without accompaniment of a band?! I rather like him, though he has come down a peg, IMO.

And why shouldn't he do a Burger King commercial? Becks is and no one has complained about it.

Once you start shilling for huge corporations, the career is over.

Doing an add like this for a legendary frontman is not acceptable. If he did a commercial for fender or gibson it would be completely alright. Burger king however is not acceptable.
