He’s been dead almost two decades (and isn’t that staggering to consider), yet Kurt Cobain is back in the news lately. Footage of late Nirvana singer/songwriter chiming in with wife Courtney Love of Hole as she meanders through the unreleased track “Stinking Of You” has surfaced online – check it out below.

The clip is taken from the new (and perhaps unlikely, subject-matter-wise) rockumentary Hit So Hard: The Life and Near Death Story of Patty Schemel, directed by P. David Ebersole and chronicling the story of former Hole (and almost Nirvana) drummer Schemel's wild life, as well as exploring the influential Seattle music scene in the 1990s.

In the video clip, Love strums an acoustic guitar and sings the track, before Cobain joins in on vocals. It is also interspersed with footage of the famous grunge couple spending time with their daughter Frances Bean Cobain, then just an infant, at home.

Just a week ago, former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson claimed that Cobain had recorded a whole album's worth of solo demos before he died in 1994, which no-one has ever heard.

Speaking about the material, he said: "He was headed in a direction that was really cool. It would have been his 'White Album'. That's really what he was going towards, a solo album but working with different people."

The movie Hit So Hard meanwhile, is currently available for rental on iTunes.
