Sounding for all the world like the voice of reason in a hailstorm of crazy, Frances Bean Cobain has fired back at mom Courtney Love and her disturbing allegations, delivered by Twitter, that Dave Grohl - former Nirvana band mate of Frances’s dad Kurt Cobain - had put the moves on her.

Frances has stated that nothing untoward happened with the Foo Fighters singer, insisting she has "never been approached" by Grohl. Her full statement, via Rolling Stone, reads: “While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn.

“I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy. Twitter should ban my mother.”

And with that, we can assume that Frances’ relationship with Love – already damaged to the point of estrangement – is pretty much kaput for the foreseeable.

Grohl yesterday also denied the accusations, saying in his own statement: "Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful Twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."

As for Twitter banning Courtney - fat chance. You literally cannot buy press this widespread. Never happen.

So where does it go from here? Personally, I am of the mind that Courtney Love needs some kind of professional help - hardly a unique viewpoint, I know, but really isn’t there someone on her circle that can step up to the plate on this? Where the heck is Dr. Phil when you need him? (At this point, Dr. Pepper would probably offer vast improvement).

Whoa there… what about these:
Courtney Love accuses Dave Grohl of hitting on daughter Frances (WTF!?)
Woman gets pregnant by stranger at concert, uses Craigslist to find him
Rocker's death ruled as suicide, not cancer
Bush singer slams tabloid readers as "parasites"
Melissa Etheridge's ex struggling on $23K/month (!?)
