Nothing can unite seemingly disparate individuals quite like a love of animals… or in this case, a love of snakes, frogs, iguanas and other such critters. Witness former GN’R guitarist Slash and comic actress Betty White, who came together to promote a new exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo.

Called L.A.I.R. – an acronym for Living Amphibians, Invertebrates, and Reptiles – the soon-to-open exhibit features 60 species of weird, rare and endangered (wait for it…) amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles. Check out the TV ad below.

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the ad campaign is designed to build awareness of the L.A.I.R. and, as UCR notes, this is not the first time Slash and the former Golden Girl have come together. The pair, both lifelong animal lovers, are members of the L.A. Zoo’s board of trustees. Cool.
