While Michigan son Kid Rock has been prostituting himself for Mitt Romney, Soundgarden belter Chris Cornell has been making the rounds supporting President Barack Obama while solo touring his Songbook disc. And that’s not all.
Cornell joined the 70th birthday bash for boxing great Muhammad Ali held earlier this month at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where he performed a cover of the Bob Marley classic “Redemption Song.” Shaky but interesting fan video is below.
Nothing can unite seemingly disparate individuals quite like a love of animals… or in this case, a love of snakes, frogs, iguanas and other such critters. Witness former GN’R guitarist Slash and comic actress Betty White, who came together to promote a new exhibit at the Los Angeles Zoo.
Called L.A.I.R. – an acronym for Living Amphibians, Invertebrates, and Reptiles – the soon-to-open exhibit features 60 species of weird, rare and endangered (wait for it…) amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles. Check out the TV ad below.
The debate about whether or not Jennifer Lopez suffered a nipple-slip at Sunday’s Oscars ends here: Aerosmith howler (and perhaps more importantly, American Idol judge) Steven Tyler has weighed in… and the answer is nuh-huh.
If you believe in the old adage “better late than never,” this has some meaning. If you subscribe to the “too little, too late” school of thought, however, then it probably doesn’t.
Guns N’ Roses screamer Axl Rose used his band’s February 27 show at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory to belatedly apologize for blowing off a gig a decade ago at the city’s First Union Center in a city he claims to love (see video below).
When not tearing up floorboards of arena stages worldwide belting out songs for Van Halen, David Lee Roth can be found… watching and filming as his dogs herd sheep and cattle? Yup, it’s true and somehow way more interesting than thinking about him chasing skirts and glugging booze.
The trouble with being a bazillionaire rock star? Everybody in your orbit wants a piece of the pie. That would seem to be the case with U2 bassist Adam Clayton, who alleges his former personal assistant misappropriated funds to the tune of $7.5 million to purchase real estate and other big-ticket items while working for him.
 Talk about creepy coincidence.
It’s just about the nuttiest video you’ll see today (cute kittens tumbling into baskets of laundry notwithstanding) and it easily constitutes the weirdest concept in rock since Metallica recorded with Lou Reed.
It’s Meat Loaf, hot on the promotional trail hyping his new Hell in a Handbasket album, comparing masked metal maulers Slipknot to classical composer Ludwig van Beethoven. Check it out below.

This isn’t the first time Late Night talk show host (and ridiculously gifted mimic) Jimmy Fallon has devoted an entire week of shows to a single artist or band, but it might be the best: next week, Jimmy Fallon goes all Bruce Springsteen all the time.
He was among the most celebrated DJs in the world, bringing future British rock and pop stars to the masses before anyone else. He was also one of the planet’s keenest record collectors and now, late BBC 1 radio announcer John Peel’s 25,000 LPs and 40,000 singles are set to be digitized and placed online for all to behold.
