It’s been more than a decade since blusey rockers Big Wreck – led by charismatic singer/guitarist Ian Thornley – dropped a studio album of new material. So it’s no overstatement to say that Albatross, their new third studio album, is hugely anticipated.
Already, the chiming, guitar-goosed title track is the highest charting Canadian single at All Rock, Modern Rock and Alternative Radio. And today, launching at 10 am ET, we have the Canadian premiere of the accompanying new video! Check it out below.
Fans of the Big Wreck’s previous discs (2001’s The Pleasure and the Greed and especially, their 1997 debut In Loving Memory Of...) will welcome the return of the quartet’s trademark heavy-yet-melodic, prog-positive sound. The album arrives March 6; stay tuned for tour dates and more info.
Ahhhh... finally... what fans have been wanting since TPATG... thank you Ian... nice to have you back to what you do best... write and perform kick ass music..cant wait to hear the new album
Ian has never lost a sense of curiosity and discovery in his music--it's such a deep pleasure to see this video. Congrats to all--the band protecting the groove--it's a work of soul and sophistication.
Why you haters waste your time breaking Ian and the band? If you don't like him just don't listen to him, and go do something else. It's commen sense. I think he sounds Great! And I love his music! It's so good! P.s see him live, he sounds great live!
Just one hater huh? Well GH, on behalf of Ian, the band and all the fans of excellence in music: if all you hear is irritating noise, and everyone else likes it (#3 Rock Song in Canada already), I believe you're the brain dead moron with no taste in music. On a side note, GTFO; your shopping cart is waiting for you under your failure bridge...
Great kick off to the new album! Number 3 in Canada so far and has not even hit the States yet! Cant wait to hear the album. Waiting so very patiently for March.
Actually, Musicfan, the bands new drummer,Brad Park, is from Ontario. I know this because a) I know him and b) as an avid music fan, I do my research. Try crawling out from under your fail rock before you make asinine comments.
The only disappointing things are that the album is only 11 tracks unlike the other 2 releases and that I have to wait till March 6th to get it. But I do know when it reaches the shelf it`ll be the 1st legit album that I will buy in 3-4 years. Let`s hope they chose great venues for the tour.
Been a fan of Big Wreck and Ian from day one. Can't wait to hear this album! I could not be more excited! They need much more exposure in my part of the U.S.
Love it
