Gene Simmons had better watch his back because Lemmy Kilmister, howler with legendary rock maulers Motörhead, is quickly gaining ground in the race to capitalize on his band’s brand name for fun and profit.
First it was wine, then vodka and now a Lemmy-approved Motörhead skull ring is up for grabs in The Great Frog jewelry stores in London, Los Angeles and New York. Check out a video of the ring below.
The “Motörhead Warpig” ring was released on December 9 and joins merchandise either from or worn by Slash, ZZ Top, Def Leppard, the Who, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Oasis, Lenny Kravitz, Metallica, Mötley Crüe and - of course - KISS in the niche retailer’s rocker/biker-friendly collection.
Apparently, Lemmy – who just turned 66 on Christmas Eve - has been endorsing The Great Frog for years and they even have a quote from him on their website: “I have a ring on every finger and every one of them comes from the Great Frog.” So there you have it.
The Motörhead Warpig ring – which retails for £UK220 - is limited edition and number engraved. The first five went to the band and management.
